About HERT
An independent creative studio working across graphic design, branding, marketing, digital experience and visual culture. Based in Dubai. Working internationally.

The name comes from the Persian idea of Shahr-e Hert — a place where familiar rules no longer apply. Usually it is said as a criticism: somewhere disordered, unpredictable, ungoverned.
HERT turns that expression into a creative position. A space where convention is questioned, experimentation is unrestricted, and every final decision is intentional.
We believe clarity does not always begin with simplicity. Sometimes it begins with contradiction, noise, uncertainty and unfinished ideas. Our role is to identify what matters, remove what does not, and construct a system that feels inevitable.
The result is not minimalism for appearance. It is precision through reduction.
Our mission
To create meaningful experiences through strategy, design and storytelling — and to build identities that outlast the trend they were made in.

Our values
We reduce complexity without erasing meaning.
We question inherited conventions rather than inherit them.
Every element must justify its presence.
We use contrast as a source of energy, not decoration.
We do not confuse excess with value.
We turn raw ideas into coherent systems.
Our approach
We go deep enough to understand the business, the audience and the constraint nobody has said out loud.
We find the core truth that sets the work apart, and write it down in a sentence anyone can repeat.
We build the system — type, colour, image, language, space — and test it against real applications.
We hand over documentation precise enough that the standard survives without us in the room.

Founder · Creative Director
HERT is led by Hamidreza Torkaman, a graphic designer, art director and author working between brand identity, product, editorial and spatial design.
The studio operates deliberately small. Projects are taken on selectively so that the person who sells the work is the person who makes it — there is no account layer between the client and the design.
Alongside client work, the studio maintains its own practice: the Index of Noise visual archive, the Neue Kunst poster series, and The Layers of Life, a bilingual collection of short fiction published in English and Persian.
Collaboration
Founders, cultural institutions, architecture studios, fashion labels, hospitality groups and independent businesses — internationally.
